Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Rubric stores on your device, what our subscription and notification providers process, and what we do not collect.

Rubric is a Bible reading app published by Sedat Ates. It works without an account: you are never asked for a name, an email address, or any other direct contact information, and there is no sign-in of any kind.

Everything you create in the app stays on your iPhone. Saved verses, notes, reading progress, streaks, your daily goal, the topics you choose, your translation, and your reminder settings are stored in the app's own container on the device, shared only with the Rubric widget so it can show a verse on your Lock Screen. We do not run a server and this data is never uploaded to us. The Scripture text itself ships inside the app, so reading requires no internet connection.

Rubric Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your Apple Account credentials or your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, which processes a randomly generated anonymous identifier, the purchase and entitlement information Apple returns, and basic device, app version and operating system details. This is used only to determine whether Premium features are unlocked and to restore purchases.

Daily verse reminders are scheduled locally by iOS. Their contents are chosen on your device and are never sent anywhere. If you allow notifications, we may also use OneSignal to send occasional messages about the app, such as a reminder before a free trial ends. OneSignal processes a push token, a randomly generated anonymous identifier, and basic device, language and app-preference information so that those messages can be delivered and are not sent twice. You can turn reminders off inside the app and revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

If you save a verse as a Lock Screen wallpaper, the app asks for add-only access to your photo library. This permission allows Rubric to write the image you just created and does not allow it to read, browse, or upload any of your existing photos.

Rubric contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party analytics SDK. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, so the App Tracking Transparency prompt is never shown. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Rubric is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

You remain in control. Deleting the app removes all of the data it stored on your device. You can turn reminders off in the app, change notification and photo permissions in iOS Settings, and manage, renew or cancel your subscription at any time under your Apple Account settings. To request deletion of anything held by our subscription or notification providers, email us and we will action it.
